In the last few months things have been quite quiet about “Haunted Chocolatier”, the new project from “Stardew Valley” creator Eric Barone. When asked, the indie developer on X gave us a new sign of life about his next title.
With “Haunted Chocolatier” quit Eric Barone aka ConcernedApe, the creative mind behind the farming hit “Stardew Valley”, will announce his latest project in autumn 2021.
We were admitted in October 2023 fresh snapshots about “Haunted Chocolatier”. Otherwise, Barone's next title has been quite rare recently. As the indie developer confirmed when asked, we will have to wait a while before we receive further details and impressions about “Haunted Chocolatier”.
Barone is currently concentrating on the extensive “Stardew Valley” update 1.6. This was recently released for the PC and brings with it all sorts of new features and content.
Console versions and bug fixes in focus
On the one hand, Barone is concerned with bringing update 1.6 to consoles as quickly as possible. Barone also wants to take care of possible errors that the community may encounter in the new content update. “I can't wait to work on it again. “But first I have to make sure Stardew 1.6 is finished, bug-free and available for all platforms,” Barone told Haunted Chocolatier.
The new content in update 1.6 includes exclusive festivals, new endgame content or a new farm. On this you start with a chicken coop and two chickens. We have further details about the contents of “Stardew Valley” update 1.6 here summarized for you.
Unfortunately, Barone has not yet revealed when the content update in question and its contents will appear for the consoles. However, this is likely to happen over the next few months.
Your own shop in a haunted house
In “Haunted Chocolatier” we take on the role of the eponymous chocolatier. He runs his own shop in a haunted house and is faced with the task of collecting ingredients in dungeons that are reminiscent of the mines in “Stardew Valley”. The ingredients are then used to make chocolates that you can sell in your store.
As Barone revealed at the end of 2022, he took inspiration from, among other things, the action RPG classic “Diablo 2” when designing the dungeons and the way you get loot and ingredients. to inspire. The playful focus of “Haunted Chocolatier” is on exploring and collecting the ingredients.
However, you can further automate your own shop as the game goes on, for example by recruiting ghosts. The ghosts then take over the management of your shop or the sale of your goods.
Barone has not yet revealed which platforms “Haunted Chocolatier” will be released for. But we can probably assume that the indie developer will also supply consoles in addition to the PC.
I am eager to get back to work on it. But I have to see Stardew 1.6 settled, bug-free and out to all platforms first
