Three years before Zack Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu animated the corridors of East High in High School Musical, Jack Black had thought of 'reviving' the cinematic genre that mixes music and high schools. School of Rock, released in 2003, is a musical comedy that has remained in the hearts of the many loyal fans of the former Tenacious D. Black, who played penniless musician Dewey Finn in the film, says he is ready to reprise the role more than 20 years after the first time.
School of Rock 2: Electric Boogaloo. Jack Black already has the perfect title ready

In an interview given to the JOE website, Jack Black proved willing to satisfy the request of fans who want a sequel to Dewey's story. In the first film, Finn, a penniless musician, passes himself off as his roommate Ned Schneebly and 'takes' his teaching job at a private school. TEverything was born as a comedy of errors and soon transformed into a film where music reigns supreme. The passion of Black's character will involve the students to the point of leading them to win a band challenge.
The film's screenplay was written by Mike White (who plays Schneebly in the film). Precisely White's involvement in the task of drafting a screenplay is one of the points that Black does not seem willing to discuss. Unfortunately, even the actor found himself forced to admit that White's professional life is, at the moment, rather busy. The author of the screenplay, in fact, is currently busy with the White Lotus series, one of the best known of recent years.
And what about the title? Black says he chose Electric Boogaloo as a tribute to another film of the same name. Released about 40 years ago, he explains, Electric Boogaloo is the sequel to a dance-focused film called Breakin'. Curiously, in 2014 a very similar title was chosen for a documentary about The Cannon Group, a film company that has often opened its doors to immigrant artists in the United States.
With his performance as Bowser in the Super Mario film and, above all, with the song Peaches, Black returned to the top of the global Billboards last year.
