Doing nothing like everyone else, the Mubae Xboard electric scooter combines triple suspension, a powerful engine, connectivity and premium brakes, all in a 3-wheel format.

We are delighted with the evolution of the flagship electric scooters on the market, such as the latest Xiaomi 4 Pro Max or Niu KQi 300P. But there is perhaps better, if we cross the Rhine. The German firm Mubea, specializing in mobility innovation, has developed a unique 3-wheel electric scooter.
Already, the front wheels of the Umobility XBoard provide unparalleled stability. This prevents steering and allows you to raise your arm to indicate a change of direction. When cornering, the steering column leans with the vehicle, turning – and slightly leaning – the wheels. This is different from Striemo or Taito which remain straight.
Three suspensions and Magura brakes
In addition to stability, comfort seems to be the machine's key asset, despite the small diameter of the wheels (8.5 inches). Indeed, the three independent suspensions should guarantee good management of degraded roads and other bumps. The motor is more classic, enclosed in the rear wheel, where it delivers a high torque of 30 Nm, and 500 W of power (up to 1,000 W peak).

Hydraulic brakes, and Magura, never before seen on a scooter? // Source: Mubea
The three hydraulically controlled discs from the Magura brand provide dantesque braking on paper, while the stem is height adjustable by 11 cm. The latter houses the battery with a capacity of 336 Wh (30 km maximum autonomy), and plays a role in the volume occupied after folding. The folding of the Mubea XBoard is also original: it separates the long deck in two, to then fold onto the steering column.

The application seems modern… even with a heartbeat? // Source: Mubea
Folded, the electric scooter therefore remains in a vertical position, like an Urban Native T9! The only downside is that the screen is very basic, the central controls seem impractical, and we note the absence of indicators.
A lightweight 3-wheel scooter for 2025?
Despite the equipment of this electric scooter, the weight only peaks at 18 kg. This is remarkable for this type of machine, Mubea having used a carbon fiber, magnesium and fiberglass chassis. That's not all, because the Umobility XBoard is also connected to an application. There is a full speedometer, engine lock, trip statistics and… a heart rate!

How does she do it? The startup is still evasive on this subject, but confirms the availability of its vehicle. The official website announces a launch in May 2024, first in Germany with a first limited series “Pioneer Edition”. This explains its limit of 20 km/h due to local legislation. Then it will orchestrate deliveries in June, before the rest of Europe by 2025 (unbridled at 25 km/h, we imagine). We also hope to discover the final price of the Xboard, estimated at 2,249 euros, when it arrives at Eurobike next July.
