Developer at SCS Software declare Attend Tokyo Game Show 2026. The event will be held in Japan from September 17th to 21st, and the studio hopes that players can try the console version of Euro Truck Simulator 2 for the first time.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 launches for Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5 as well as American Truck Simulator last year. But these projects still don’t have a release date. It looks like the console version may appear at a Japanese show for the first time.
We’re doing our best to bring playable demos of our upcoming games Road Trip and Coaches to Tokyo Game Show, as well as the Playstation 5 version of Euro Truck Simulator 2. We’re not ready to commit yet, but our team is working hard to get attendees into early access to these games.
At the show, the developer plans to show off a version for the Playstation 5, while the Xbox Series X | S was not mentioned in the studio’s statement. This may be because Sony’s console is more popular in Japan, so showing off its version is a priority for the studio.
Previously, the developers reported that console players had added Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator to their wishlists more than 1 million times. At the same time, they called the task of porting the PC version of the game to consoles “superhuman,” as it would essentially require a complete rewrite of the engine.
