Korean studio Shift Up has reported on the development progress of Star Blade: Blood Rain, the sequel to the action game announced at the Summer Games Festival in June. In its most recent financial report, the company’s management said production on the project was progressing smoothly without any issues.
The developers are not yet ready to reveal plot and gameplay details. Shift Up only noted that the creation of “Blood Rain” is “progressing smoothly” and meets the studio’s internal quality standards.
The company expects the sequel to be more commercially successful than the first installment. They plan to achieve this by leveraging their already established franchise audience and transitioning to self-publishing games without involving third-party publishers.
Meanwhile, Shift Up continues to expand the audience of the original Stellar Blade. According to reports, a Nintendo Switch 2 port of the game is also in development as planned and is expected to be released before the end of 2026.
