This past gaming week (August 8-15) passed with almost no news regarding Game Pass subscriptions. There are some new products added to the service, but there are no announcements or details about previously announced subscriptions. We’ve rounded up all of the most interesting news about Game Pass this week, and there’s not a lot of it.
New games on Game Pass
Within a week, the subscription was replenished with 8 items at different service levels:
- Date everything! (Xbox, PC) — Ultimate Edition, PC
- Bounty Star (Xbox, PC) – Premium edition, already available in Ultimate and PC
- Grounded 2 (Xbox, PC) – Premium edition, already available in Ultimate and PC
- Ball x Pit (Xbox, PC) – Premium version, already available in Ultimate and PC
- Wolfenstein 3D (Xbox, previously released on PC) – Premium, Ultimate Edition
- Cricket 26 (Xbox, PC) – Ultimate Edition, Advanced Edition, PC
- Mio: Memories on Orbit (Xbox, PC) – Premium Edition, available in Ultimate and PC
- Sandustry (PC) — Ultimate Edition, PC
One unexpected surprise was the release of the Wolfenstein 3D game, which was not announced as part of August’s new Game Pass product selection. At the same time, a project version with Xbox 360 was added to the service for Xbox, and for backward compatibility, the subscription has not been supplemented with new products for a long time.
Meanwhile, all week long, only the day-one version has appeared in subscriptions – and that’s Sandustry, available only on PC.
What content will be coming to Game Pass in the second half of August?
Early next week, Microsoft is expected to announce its Game Pass game lineup for the second half of August. Currently, only the following projects are known:
- August 18 – Egging On (Xbox, PC), Premium, now available on Ultimate and PC
- 27 августа — Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (Xbox, PC), Ultimate Edition, PC
Please note that the Grave Seasons game, originally scheduled for release in August, has been postponed indefinitely.
Games to be removed from Game Pass
This week, 4 games will be removed from the Game Pass subscription and will no longer be available in the subscription starting August 16th:
- threaten
- atlas trap
- Aliens: Fire Elite
- firewatch
All listed items are excluded from service on Xbox and PC.
