Square Enix announced that Kingdom Hearts IV, an action role-playing game that combines Final Fantasy and Disney World, will be launched at the end of 2027. The game will be available on PC via steam, epic games store and microsoft storeas well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 game consoles.
Additionally, Disney and Pixar’s Coco universe is confirmed in the game. Details on what role this world will play in the new installment have yet to be revealed.
The developers also talked about the combat system. It will maintain the dynamic nature of the series and allow you to combine physical attacks with magic and create combos using new combat mechanics. Sora’s main sword can be changed during gameplay, gaining unique attacks and adapting his fighting style to specific situations.
The events of “Kingdom Hearts IV” will continue Sora’s story. The protagonist wakes up in the unfamiliar world of Quadratum, a modern metropolis. As Sora tries to find a way back to his world, Donald and Goofy travel to Hell in hopes of finding clues to his whereabouts.
