ASUS has fixed critical vulnerabilities in the Armory Crate application and several other proprietary utilities that could allow unprivileged applications to gain kernel-level access on Windows systems. CVE-2026-8917 affects the IOCTL mechanism used by applications to interact with device drivers. If there is local access to the device, an attacker can write certain values to arbitrary memory areas.
