On Rotten Tomatoes, the show received 95% media freshness and 88% positive audience score, while on Metacritic, the show’s average ratings were 72 and 7.1 respectively.
Creators, led by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, forego the usual universe scope. The story takes place in rural Nebraska, where Hal Jordan and John Stewart investigate a murder. The show’s atmosphere is reminiscent of a dark crime detective story, and the premiere episode also surprised viewers with its non-linear narrative and unexpected ending.
