Ukrainian independent studio Ternox Games, best known for its anime-style stock market simulator Stonks-9800, is unexpectedly facing severe sanctions from Sony.
As the developer reported on August 17, 2026, the Japanese manufacturer unilaterally and without explanation terminated the cooperation agreement with the developer and publisher.
As a result of this decision, the PlayStation 5’s Stonks-9800 console port (as well as a physical disc version planned for 2027) has been completely cancelled. In addition, 13 previously released games from the studio will be completely removed from the PS Store digital store: players have until August 23 to purchase them. PlayStation support declined to comment for this story or respond to the developer’s request. In response, the studio pledged to make every effort to release physical versions of its games on PC and Nintendo Switch consoles.
Although in fact the reason is well known: the studio blasted Sony online for refusing to release the game on disc.
