GTA VI, the ambitious open-world crime thriller from British studio Rockstar Games, has become the victim of yet another gameplay leak ahead of its much-anticipated delayed release.

In the public domain on the evening of August 18 beat Two videos containing gameplay excerpts from (presumably) an early version of GTA VI, as well as screenshots of the full map of the game world – the Florida-inspired state of Leonidas.
The source of the leak is an activist named Cyberleek. “Fighting for player rights” and to protest Rockstar’s decision not to release GTA VI on disc – instead, the game box will contain a digital download code.
Both clips show off Jason Duvall, one of GTA VI’s two heroes. In the first video, the user plays basketball in his backyard, and in the second video, he fights with a civilian while riding his bike.
The leak was initially met with skepticism given the development of generative artificial intelligence, but shortly after its release, Take-Two Interactive (owner of Rockstar) began actively blocking unauthorized GTA VI gameplay.
It is worth noting that this is not the first gameplay leak of GTA VI – in the fall of 2022, hundreds of gameplay videos of the game’s beta version were released. Rockstar has since tightened its security controls, but that doesn’t seem to have made a difference.
GTA VI will be released on November 19, 2026 only on PS5, Xbox Series X and S. An extended screening of the game will take place on August 27 (starting at 22:00 Moscow time), but only on Netflix – the film will be released on YouTube six hours later.
