Against the background of the rapid rise in prices of the current Blackwell generation graphics cards, China’s graphics accelerator market is showing an unusual trend. The workshop began to resolder old GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards on a large scale, increasing the GDDR6X memory capacity from the factory 10 GB to 20 GB. These mod cards are now appearing on the secondary market, selling for around $445 (approximately 3,000 yuan).
This solution removes one of the main limitations of the original model, making it more suitable for modern gaming and artificial intelligence tasks. Despite the lack of an official warranty, high power consumption and incompatibility with DLSS 4.5 frame generation technology, such cards are becoming an attractive alternative to newer models, the prices of which have recently exceeded recommendations by a significant amount.
