At the event, Google management will demonstrate a new computer platform and its software architecture. Google partners are also expected to be on hand to show off their computers on the demo stage – conference rules allow reporters to take photos and videos and test the first Googlebook-class computers.
Previously, Google confirmed that its partners are Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo. The search giant launched the Googlebook platform in May and has promised to release the first models this fall. Google’s official public channels have not yet mentioned the date of September 15th. Perhaps this will be a purely journalistic event: journalists will be allowed to photograph and publish test results, but the computer’s release date may remain embargoed.
