Rockstar Games is facing another wave of suspected data leaks ahead of its scheduled release in November 2026. Brief gameplay footage has circulated online, showing protagonist Jason playing basketball and driving a car, as well as an overview map of the state of Leonidas. Take-Two and Rockstar Games are currently filing a massive DMCA copyright complaint over the distribution of these recordings on social media platforms. An organization called CyberLeek is said to be behind the incident. The authors combine publications with published manifestos and the promotion of their own crypto tokens.

Map information has emerged showing the state of Leonidas, estimated to be roughly twice the size of the Grand Theft Auto V game world. The overview divides the territory into five distinct areas, such as Lummox, Leonard or Vice Dale, which in addition to the lively Vice City includes swampy landscapes, lush mountainous areas and several offshore islands.

It’s unclear whether the material is an old developer version or cleverly faked based on previous community analysis. However, Take-Two’s consistent suppression suggests that the material presented at least contains some real footage.

Along with the leak, the organization released a manifesto. In it, CyberLeek harshly criticized the video game industry’s move toward purely digital formats, the abandonment of physical data carriers, and the closure of purely online games. Hackers are demanding that major development studios guarantee the rights of digital consumers and threatening other publishers with further targeted data leaks if the industry doesn’t fundamentally change its attitude towards players.

The event sparked mixed reactions and considerable skepticism within the gaming community. The self-proclaimed activists prominently mentioned a newly launched crypto-meme coin in their publication. As a result, many observers and industry experts suspect that the so-called consumer rights declaration is a deliberate attempt to capitalize on the hype surrounding the game to implement dubious cryptocurrency schemes. Rockstar Games has yet to officially comment on the extent of the leak.
