Bodycam developers have begun revealing the game’s biggest update yet. In the first of four diaries, the author shows off a redesigned animation system, new reloading mechanics, expanded weapon customization, and some tools to make combat more intense.
The main change will be completely updated first-person animations. Reloading will now depend on the character’s stress level and will have multiple execution options, while procedural weapon positioning will make each such action slightly different from the previous one. Additionally, there is a magazine check, weapon check, and many small parts designed primarily for diving.
Additionally, the developers also showed off a new loadout system and weapon customization with hundreds of different devices. You can control your device via an in-game tablet, which replaces the usual menus and lets you take part in what’s happening. FPV drones and radio-controlled vehicles will also expand tactical capabilities.
This is just the beginning of the diary series. In the second issue, the developers will discuss sound design, the third issue will be dedicated to the trenches, and the fourth issue will be dedicated to changes proposed by the players themselves. Each release should explain not only what exactly changed, but also why the team chose this approach.
