It’s been nearly a year since players last saw NetEase’s ANANTA (formerly known as Project Mugen), and the game has now been confirmed to be showcased at gamescom 2026.
The official social media account confirmed that she will perform live on opening night. The game will be broadcast live on August 25, 2026.

ANANTA will appear at Gamescom 2026 and release new key images. It depicts the protagonist running on the roof of a car holding a cookie with the number 8/24 and the name of the game written on it. His long-time partner Taffy can be seen in the background.
The last time ANANTA showed any signs of life in a TGS trailer was in September 2025. It shows actual gameplay footage. Before that, in December 2024, a video emerged confirming the official title of the game. Since then, the only updates on social media have been about the official New Year and Chinese New Year art.
