Eclipse Glow Games studio talked about the concept of Tides of Annihilation, an action game about a post-apocalyptic London divided into different dimensions. The developers deliberately mixed dark environments with bright, almost comical moments so that players wouldn’t feel constant emotional pressure.
Game director Ari Chen explained that humor was needed to provide relief between the heavy scenes of exploring ruins and combat. According to her, the satirical nature of the team’s producers seeped organically into the game, while characters such as Mercury, the talkative creature, or Ninion, the heroine’s guardian, downplayed the tragic nature of the story of the last man on Earth.
In addition, the team emphasized that “Tide of Destruction” is not a souls-based game, although the threshold for combat skills is high. The combat system is designed for experienced players to quickly get started and develop their knight combinations in depth.
The developer also commented on Jennifer English’s exit from the role of Gwendolyn due to health concerns. The actress helped choose her successor along with other actors, according to the studio. Development is on schedule; a release date has not yet been announced.
