Genki Manta is priced at $189 during the pre-order period, and the controller will be priced at $279 upon release. Normally, participating in a project on a crowdfunding platform involves some risk, but this is Genki’s ninth campaign, and the manufacturer has earned a reputation as a reliable partner.

Genki Manta offers extensive customization options through a configuration interface implemented using the Raspberry Pi RP2350 microcontroller. You can create profiles for different consoles, games, and users, adjust joystick response and dead zones, change the intensity of haptic feedback, remap buttons, and record, edit, and combine multiple button presses to create your own macros.

Another feature of the Genki Manta is the “Level 3 Trigger”. Many high-end controllers offer dual-trigger switching, which can be useful in racing games or first-person shooters, but the Manta offers a third option optimized for those “most valuable repeat presses.” The buttons on the front panel are also analog, and you can choose how far each button moves before registering a press.

Worth mentioning are the linear magnetic actuators in the handle for tactile feedback, the anti-drift reluctance tunnel wand for adjustable pressure, the removable 2600 mAh battery, and the six remappable buttons on the back and sides. There’s even a button to switch between keyboard and mouse modes, so you can work in the browser, for example. To connect to your computer, you can use a USB Type-C cable, the included 2.4 GHz band adapter, or Bluetooth.
