Stellaris developers, the global strategy studio at Paradox Interactive, have released a new developer diary dedicated to the results of their summer experiments. Public beta testing of Update 4.5 is currently underway Cygnusthe team shared concepts for features that could come to the game in future patches.
Key experimental additions include “resource gathering rights” for trading with nomadic empires, scaling capabilities for megastructures (such as flexible arc furnace setups), and the long-awaited espionage rework.
The latter system may receive an alert level mechanism (vigilance), increases during operations and increases the resistance of espionage victims. Additionally, the developers explored improvements to the empire editor, a randomizer for personal traits, and new settings for mercenary fleets.
