Vapor World: Over The Mind has been added to Game Pass this week. It launched in Early Access on Xbox Series X | S and PC, and was immediately criticized for its use of AI in cutscenes. But the developer was quick to rectify the situation and issued a clarification on the matter.

According to the developer, the team originally created all of the cutscenes for Vapor World: Over The Mind. However, the results were much worse than expected, so they decided to use AI generation to replace some of the materials, hoping to achieve “Represent complex stories more expressively”. However, the original version has not disappeared. All cutscenes were originally fully implemented using the engine and were replaced with AI-created versions starting shortly before release.

The developers of Vapor World: Over The Mind released an update amid criticism and removed cutscenes created by artificial intelligence. The patch also fixes launch, save issues, and improves the feel of character control. According to the project director, one of the most common complaints after launch was that the action felt too slow and heavy. In the new version, the developers have significantly increased the movement speed of the hero, improved the responsiveness of the controls and the overall movement feel during the passage.

The creator of Vapor World: Over The Mind also confirmed that cutscenes for future episodes will be created manually, and the studio plans to provide a roadmap for major updates to the game in the near future.
