Frogwares Studio’s horror film “The Sinking City 2” was released on August 18, 2026, and showed a restrained online dynamic on Steam. Even the weekend didn’t help: the game’s performance couldn’t beat the initial peak of 1,906 concurrent users recorded on premiere day.
All of this is despite the fact that the game has received rave reviews from buyers. But this isn’t the first time this has happened: when a developer from Eastern Europe pointedly refused to localize a game into the third most popular language on Steam, it didn’t arouse widespread interest from gamers, even though the product had been translated into 15 languages.
