Publisher Commodore and studio Antstream, with participation from Team17, have announced the release of Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection. The collection commemorating the series’ 35th anniversary will be released in September 2026 on Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, Switch and PC.
This collection will bring together the complete library of items from the first era of Alien Breeds:
- Alien Breed is a 1991 original.
- Alien Breed II: The Terror Continues – December 1993.
- Alien Breed: Tower Assault – 1994.
- Alien Breed 3D – 1995.
- Alien Breed 3D II: Killing Fields — December 1996.
- Alien Species: Special Edition 92 is an expanded version of the original Alien Species.
The developers note that the game retains the original isometric sci-fi horror action gameplay but has been tweaked for modern devices. The series will also include new modes – Sprint and Horde – as well as archival material, concept art and other information about the history of the series.
Changes players will notice in this series include updated controls for modern gaming controllers, improved frame rates, convenient saves, graphics and sound settings, the ability to switch to “Retro Vision” mode, the choice of 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios, and more.
