Google is making a major update to Ask Play, lPlay Store conversations feature unveiled at Google I/O 2026. The new feature will allow you to attach images directly to conversations using photos that exist in your gallery or photos taken with your camera.
Android Authority spotted the feature in Google Play Store 52.8.55-34 and subsequently activated it manually, but it has not yet been made public. This image can be used to provide additional context to artificial intelligence and ask more precise questions.
Images become part of research
The most interesting uses involve Identification of application and interface elements. For example, if you see a screenshot of a specific home screen widget online, you can attach that image to Ask Play and ask which app or widget is shown. This search can also be used to find apps based on more specific needs.

Instead, there are prompts with contextual questions, organized horizontally and remaining visible as you scroll through the app pages. Clicking on one of the suggested questions will open a new lower Ask to Play panel, which will provide specific answers based on the displayed application.
So the two changes appear to be part of the same evolution: Google wants to render artificial intelligence in the spotlight, rather than dedicating it to a separate segment. Ask Play to be more integrated into the Play Store navigation. Currently, conversation attachments and new contextual chips are under development and not yet available to users. A date for the public offering has not yet been announced.
