Let’s remember that CD Projekt Red confirmed plans for the next game based on The Witcher in spring 2022, and fully announced The Witcher 4 at the 2024 Game Awards. Release is expected no earlier than 2027.
According to Nowakowski, questions about The Witcher 4’s release date are the most popular among the CD Projekt Red community. It is understood that the studio expects to release the game on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S in 2028.

The studio is not planning to show off The Witcher 4 at the upcoming Gamescom 2026 show, but reminded that they are preparing to show off the “Song of the Past” story supplement for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Ballads of the Past will be released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S in 2027. The add-on will be part of the live demo opening night at Gamescom 2026. The broadcast will begin on August 25 at 21:00 Moscow time.
