According to Deadline, a month ago, Amazon approved the “RoboCop” series that has been in the works for several years. The male lead has been selected: Alex Murphy from the Detroit Police Department, this time will be played by Dan Stevens (“Legion”).
He will follow in the footsteps of Peter Weller and Joel Kinnaman. By the way, the 43-year-old actor will soon appear in front of the audience in “Godzilla vs. Kong: Supernova” and transform into a madman in the second season of “Dragon: Resurrection”. Nothing new is expected as far as the plot of the poor guy being forced to farm after death, clothed in metal and stripped of his free will; Peter Oko (Science, Moonhaven) is in charge of eight episodes.
Let’s remember that even before Amazon bought MGM, there were already plans to make a movie as a continuation of Paul Verhoeven’s adaptation of the screenplay by Edward Neumeier (Starship Troopers) and Michael Miner, which had been sitting in the studio’s dustbin for nearly four decades. But now, apparently, you can forget about him.
