Google will reportedly launch a new Android feature that will reduce or completely eliminate the effects of motion sickness in moving cars for smartphone users Android Authority. Google Motion Assist is very similar to Apple Motion Cues, which will be launched in 2024.

The new motion sickness protection feature is gradually being introduced to Android 17, and Google Pixel smartphones will be the first smartphones to receive it. The technology has a scientific backing – it solves the problem of motion sickness by allowing a person’s inner ear to sense the car’s turning, braking and acceleration while watching a static screen. Motion assistance uses accelerometers and gyroscopes: a point placed on the screen moves with the car. When the car turns right, the points move to the left, and when the car brakes, the points move forward.
In Google’s implementation, users will be able to adjust the transparency of the motion indicator and choose from a variety of shapes and colors. The feature can be set to turn on automatically when a moving vehicle is detected, or you can activate it manually from Google Settings on your smartphone.
