The developers of sandbox Temtem: Pioneers have revealed details about a boss that will be one of the main antagonists. These enhanced versions of normal Temtem will protect access to a single biome and the resources needed to progress further, so fighting them cannot be completely avoided.
Bosses differ from regular Temtem in more than just size and features. They will be given their own set of techniques and combos, and their abilities are enhanced versions of the moves available to the player. Some attacks use multiple elements, create additional projectiles, or attack a larger area.
Unlike regular Temtem, which can have up to four techniques, the boss is capable of using more than four. In addition, he can summon ordinary Temtem as minions during battle. Opponents will also behave differently. Some bosses will be more aggressive, while others will dodge or call for reinforcements more frequently.
Some battles are divided into several stages. As the boss moves between them, he can change his behavior and the array of techniques he uses, so one strategy won’t necessarily work throughout the entire fight.
Visually, the boss will be significantly larger than a regular boss, and will have modified anatomy and additional visual effects. The developers aren’t ready to show them off in the game itself yet, but they have shown off concept art of Gardel, one of the first bosses confirmed. However, the images shown are a work in progress and final appearance may vary.
You can fight the boss alone or with other players. Even on co-op servers, players have the right to participate in battles alone. As the number of trainers increases, the bosses become more aggressive, and some of their techniques are able to target certain combatants. After the first victory, many of them can be defeated again to obtain the necessary resources.
