Microsoft announced earlier this year that it was launching pre-orders for its line of devices in celebration of the Xbox’s 25th anniversary. It includes the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console with a standard 1 TB hard drive and the Xbox X25 Special Edition Wireless Controller.
The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition comes in a translucent green color with elements that reference the brand’s history and the original console. Xbox says each console will receive an individual number and unique engraving. The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition is priced at $899.99. The console bundle also includes an Xbox 25th Anniversary game controller and a free digital copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved. The device will be released on November 13th.
Microsoft specifically emphasized that pre-orders will initially be open only to Xbox fans. Today, some Xbox fans will receive a pre-order invitation email. Pre-orders will open to everyone on August 27th. However, the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition can only be purchased in the form of “1 device per hand”. In this way, Xbox hopes to avoid or minimize the problem of overbidding.
The Xbox X25 Special Edition Wireless Controller will be sold separately for $79.99. Pre-orders for it have already started, and the release date will be a little earlier – October 20th.
It is worth reminding that on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Xbox, some Microsoft partners also gave away limited accessories and equipment.
