Blizzard has confirmed the soft launch date for its top-down mobile multiplayer shooter Battlefield. The game will be released on August 31, 2026, but only in Indonesia. It will be released in Malaysia and the Philippines later. A global release date is still unknown.
After technical testing in February this year, the developers made a number of changes. For the new version, we have prepared a redesigned hero development system, new character Brigitte, two modes, three maps and updated Lucio. A large portion of the changes were made following player feedback.
Rush will have a hero level system. Players will be able to obtain special resources from matches and use them to develop the character of their choice, providing new options for customized equipment.
Brigitte will be the new pioneer. The character adopts a top-down perspective, maintaining an emphasis on melee combat and team support. New modes include “Duo Free for All” and “3v3 Control”. In the first game, three teams of two players will fight against each other, and the second game will offer a compact version of the classic mode and capture a point.
Lucio underwent major reforms. The hero will be able to jump over obstacles and move along walls, and his support abilities will have better control over speed increases and healing effects. In some cases, both effects can be active at the same time.
Three new maps will be added to the game: the Gibraltar location version of Narwhal Bay, Cairo’s Hydronet Gardens and Dorado’s Mansión Portero. They’re based on familiar Strike Force locations, but aren’t remakes of existing maps. The developers have also updated the robot’s training and behavior, and added an aim assist switch and a new signaling system.
