In a new diary, the developers of Hearts of Iron 4 talk about the economic options for Romania, which must decide how to combine a predominantly agricultural population with the country’s need to rapidly industrialize.
The first option, known as the “Breadbasket of Europe,” relied on the development of agriculture, population growth, and civil industry. This path involves more incremental factory construction, but it could create a solid economic base for further strengthening the military. Considering that more than 70% of the Romanian population was engaged in agriculture in the 1930s, it would not be easy to completely abandon this direction.
