The Krafton Company and PUBG Madison Studios have launched a new project in the popular world of battle royale gaming – a competitive multiplayer FPS called PUBG: DED.NET. The game combines classic first-person shooter gameplay with a roguelite-style cycle progression system, where character death is a mandatory part of the gameplay.
The story takes place in the alternative Cascadia of the 1990s, full of grunge, mysticism and body horror. Each outing combines elements of competitive play and competition: players gather resources, combine dozens of unique abilities and create unique structures. If the character dies, the accumulated experience and resources are not depleted, but instead enhance the hero’s next attempt. The developers focused on unconventional tactical mechanics: players can rip off car doors and use them as bulletproof shields, hack into pay phones to steal money from opponents, fake death, and even restore health through cannibalism.
The project is in development for PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The exact release and testing dates have not yet been announced by the author.
