CD Projekt RED has confirmed a tentative release date for The Witcher IV – the sequel to the Witcher saga scheduled for release in 2028. In the meantime, the game won’t be shown off at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, so don’t expect a new trailer in the near future.
More than 500 developers are currently working on the project. CDPR calls The Witcher IV the biggest, boldest, and most ambitious game in the studio’s history, promising a vast open world, action-packed gameplay, and an elaborate storyline.
But fans of the series can look forward to new content in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. At Gamescom, the developers will talk about the Song of the Past expansion for the first time, including its dark history and content. Additionally, CD Projekt RED will be hosting a number of special broadcasts that may feature new announcements and surprises.
Songs from the Past will be released in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
