The Vivo brand has quietly launched a new smartphone, and its name may be misleading. In fact, the earlier-announced Vivo V80 Lite 5G will go on sale in India in early September. However, now the manufacturer has released a completely different device with the same name.

The new Vivo V80 Lite 5G is equipped with a 6.83-inch curved POLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 3000 cd/m². There is a hole-punch at the top of the display that houses the 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The main camera is built with a 50-megapixel sensor, which is complemented by a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
An octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo microprocessor combined with 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB UFS 3.1 Class A storage is responsible for the performance of the new smartphone. The power supply is a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 7050mA·h Supports wired charging up to 44W. According to the manufacturer, the battery can withstand at least 1,600 charge cycles before its capacity drops below 80%.
The smartphone runs Android 16 with the proprietary OriginOS 6 interface. The vendor promises to release operating system updates within three years and security updates within five years. The device is housed in an IP69 and IP69 compliant enclosure that protects internal components from moisture and dust. It can also withstand drops of up to 1 meter on 7 different smooth surfaces.
Vivo V80 Lite 5G is available in Blue and White color options. Users who want to purchase the new product will need to spend $450 for the 128 GB hard drive version, while the 256 GB hard drive version will cost $525.
