The long-running hit game PUBG: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting another spin-off alongside PUBG: Ded.Net. Krafton wanted to expand the proven formula to include various roguelite elements.
PUBG: Ded.Net, another spin-off from the long-running successful battle royale game PUBG: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, celebrated its premiere at Gamescom in Cologne. The game is also a PvP first-person shooter, but it’s set further back and has additional innovations.
The story of PUBG: Ded.Net takes place in the year 1996 on the Cascadia map. This is a fictional region inspired by the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The series will have a new, darker setting, which will also incorporate more features than previous battle royale games.
In PUBG: Ded.Net, Krafton paid special attention to Roguelite features, especially a progression system like this. This is built over multiple games, so it goes far beyond simply completing a single game. You can also expect character-based combat and ever-changing game conditions.
The decisions you make in each game session should have a direct impact on the further progression of the game. How the whole thing performs in real life will first be investigated during a closed beta phase. PUBG: Ded.Net hasn’t confirmed a specific release date yet, but you can watch the accompanying first trailer to get an idea of the mood.
