Publisher 4Divinity and studio Eschatology Entertainment have released a trailer for Gun of Doom, a hardcore first-person shooter with Souls elements. Meanwhile, the developers confirmed that the game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026.
Guns of Eschaton will initially be a single-player game, but the developer will also be adding co-op play. The new trailer shown at Gamescom 2026 is dedicated to him. Playing together changes the pace of combat and requires coordination between both players. Character progression is also possible in this mode.
Guns of Eschaton combines first-person shooter mechanics with soul-sucking principles. The story takes place in the original 19th-century American frontier, experiencing an apocalypse, where familiar images of the Wild West coexist with mystery, religion, mythology and supernatural horror. The game promises precision shooting, world exploration, character development and creating your own buildings.
In combat, it’s not just accuracy that matters. The developers relied on studying the opponent and consciously using weapons. Bullets become a valuable resource, and knowing an enemy’s characteristics is as important as knowing when to shoot or parry. Instead of ordinary soul swords, gun barrels are used here, and the positions of strange monsters are replaced by demonic creatures, trains, etc.
The development system will allow you to collect your own versions of characters. Players will have guns, a variety of ammunition, mystical abilities, amulets, armor, consumables, and active and passive skills. Their combination should create different passing options and ways to deal with opponents.
