Samsung showed New series of Odyssey 2027 gaming monitorsthere are four models focusing on different needs. The series includes high refresh rate OLED solutions, a new 42-inch curved format, and fast IPS monitors designed for competitive gaming.
Among these new features, the update rate achieved by the new model stands out the most. The Odyssey OLED G9 can reach 720 Hz by reducing the resolution, while the Odyssey G6 increases the maximum to 1,100 Hz. The price and launch date of the new monitor have not yet been announced.
Between OLED, Dual Mode and Extreme Update Rate
The most special model is the Odyssey OLED G9 G95SJ. 49-inch monitor equipped with fifth-generation QD-OLED panelPenta Tandem technology and dual QHD resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels. The frequency reaches 360 Hz and the GtG response time is 0.03 ms. However, with dual mode, you can switch to 2,560 x 720 pixels and hit 720 Hz, which is good for speeds in competitive gaming.
This panel also uses RGB stripe sub-pixel arrangementdesigned to reduce color fringing and improve text readability. Samsung claims that the peak brightness at 3% window at 4K resolution is as high as 1,300 nits. The five-layer Penta Tandem construction should also improve efficiency and durability compared to the previous generation.

Odyssey OLED G8 G80SJ adopts alternative 32-inch QD-OLED panel with ultra-high definition resolution and 360 Hz maximum refresh rate. Furthermore, in this case the display mode can change depending on the game: starting from UHD at 360 Hz, passing through QHD at 520 Hz and ending with FHD at 680 Hz. There’s DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, two HDMIs, USB-C with up to 98 W of power, a USB hub, and KVM. This monitor also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC.
Samsung offers alternative to Odyssey OLED G7 G75SJ 42-inch 16:9 format curved OLEDwhich is the company’s first combination in the field of OLED gaming monitors. This panel offers 4K resolution, 1000R curvature, 165 Hz update rate, and 0.03 ms GTG response time. The screen area is about 72% larger than the previous 32-inch model.
However, the one with the highest refresh rate is the Odyssey G6 G60H. 27-inch Fast IPS high-definition display reaches 1,100 Hz QHD is achieved through dual modes with a frequency of 600 Hz and a response time of 1 ms. These values are first and foremost for competitive FPS, where the first priority is minimizing latency in displaying the action. It’s a faster solution than the new LG 1,000 Hz, but with lower resolution and a cost of a dollar per Hz.
Samsung launches new series HDR10+ games and the evolution of 3D games. The company plans to provide HDR10+ GAMING support for more than 20 AAA games in the first half of 2027, and games showcased using Odyssey 3D include “Cyberpunk 2077” and “Kronos: New Dawn.” The availability and related prices of the new series will be announced later, and the Odyssey G6 is expected to be released as soon as the second half of this year.
