During Gamescom 2026 week, Zeus: The Arrogant God, a new MMORPG from AButton developer and publisher Com2uS, took place in its native South Korea. The project emphasizes hardcore grinding, but with bots and PvP. But its global rollout in the West has already been questioned due to extremely aggressive and controversial monetization.
The main reason for the flurry of criticism on Reddit was an incident in the in-game chat: players discovered a notification that they would have to pay real money to send texts to the chat after the free messages ran out.
While the developers may have tried to combat bots and gold traders in such a radical way, the Pay2Talk approach was rejected by the community. At the same time, the author is trying to introduce interesting balancing mechanics – for example, a PvE campaign with bot copies of real players for those who don’t want to compete with financial “whales” – but the overall direction the game is moving in is unlikely to find a response in the West.
