The creators of MMORPG Drakantos have shared their development diary for August, highlighting the major changes since closed beta in May. The main innovations are an overhaul of the artifact system (they now consume focus resources accumulated in combat rather than a limited cost), the emergence of a third artifact slot, and the addition of a diagonal direction to attacks relative to the mouse cursor.
Additionally, the developers announced the completion of in-game auctions, a custom PvP competition system with support for 5v5 format and streaming modes, as well as completely redesigned gamepad and Steam Deck controls.
The project’s weakest points remain its missions and story campaign, however, and the studio has expanded its staff to speed up production, although it’s still not ready to give an exact release date for Early Access.
