As part of the Gamescom show in Germany, Xbox head Asha Sharma gave several interviews. She specifically accepted an interview with a BBC reporter, who asked her about Microsoft’s plans for the next generation of game consoles. Xbox already launched Project Helix earlier this year, but while it was previously thought it would be one device, Asha Sharma is now apparently talking about a “family of devices.” She also reconfirmed that PC games will run on future Xbox consoles, but didn’t specify whether players would be allowed to install them from third-party stores like Steam.

At this time, Xbox has not specified a timetable for a full reveal of Project Helix. The Microsoft team promises to send development kits for next-generation consoles to developers in early 2027.
