In the Grand Theft Auto series, stealing any car is a matter of pressing a button in most cases. Rockstar developers have officially confirmed that things will change in Grand Theft Auto VI. According to them, they want to make car stealing a separate element of this part of the gameplay, and now it will be much harder to get the car you want.
As Rockstar executive Rob Nelson told IGN, the developers divided the cars into several accessibility categories. When the passage begins, it will be partially closed to parked vehicles. To access them, you need to advance the story and acquire the necessary tools. Meanwhile, if you spot the owner of an expensive car behind the wheel, you can still steal it instantly. According to Nelson, players will be able to steal any car from its driver.
In an extended demo of GTA 6, one of the new options for infiltrating cars has been shown off. Jason can break the side window and get in quickly, or use Slim Jim for a quieter break-in. The second method is to play small games with sticks. However, different cars require different tools. For some cars, a Slim Jim will be enough; for others, you’ll need a key cloner.
There will also be a special app on your phone to evaluate the car. It will show whether the car is locked, whether the alarm is installed, and whether there is a tracker. Additionally, the app will tell you what your car would be worth if sold through a classic Pay n’ Spray garage or an authorized dealer, as well as how much it would cost to register for your own use.
Grand Theft Auto VI is set to release on November 19 for Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5.
