Cloud gaming service GeForce NOW is being upgraded. As part of Gamescom, NVIDIA is showcasing a range of innovative technologies for streaming services. In addition to expanded setting options for graphics performance and wider device support across the Steam ecosystem, the focus is primarily on prominent new game additions. In the future, Ultimate members can not only enjoy GeForce RTX 5080-level streaming capabilities, but also look forward to top-notch free games when subscribing to annual services.
With the latest update, NVIDIA is taking visual customizability in the cloud to the next level. As an Ultimate member, you have direct access to advanced DLSS 4.5 controls. This allows you to fully customize features like super-resolution, dynamic frame generation, and light reconstruction to your liking to get the most out of image quality and streaming performance. Can be streamed on supported devices at resolutions up to 5K HDR, ray tracing and NVIDIA Reflex.
The service has also seen significant improvements in terms of devices and platforms. Starting this fall, GeForce NOW will officially support Valve devices, such as Steam machines, including Steam Controllers, based on the established Steam Deck integration. Thanks to the integration of GOG single sign-on, there is no need to bother logging in again when launching the game. In addition, Firefox is now officially supported as a streaming browser, and expanded app support for Amazon Fire TV is also in the works.
In terms of content, you can expect significant additions from day one. Blockbusters such as Control Resonant, Gears of War: E-Day, Onimusha: Way of the Kennel, Blood of the Dawn Walker, and Star Wars: Zero Company will eventually go directly to the cloud upon release. NVIDIA is also launching a special promotion for Control Resonant: Anyone who purchases a 12-month GeForce NOW Ultimate membership between August 25 and September 27, 2026 will receive the full version of the game for free when it launches.
The Gamescom line-up is flanked by the usual GFN Thursdays, which have great content for you this week, including the highlight just in time for the release of Alien: Fireteam 2. Other new additions this week include Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Baldur’s Gate 3 (from GOG), Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and the open beta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (as of September 1).
