Grinding Gear Games has announced new details about the Forbidden Ritual event in Path of Exile 2. The developers clarified the start date and time, duration, rules of participation, and informed which changes will affect all players.
“Forbidden Ritual” will begin at 23:00 Moscow time on September 4. Prior to release, the servers will be briefly offline to install the update, and the team will announce the exact timing of the maintenance later this week. To join the event, simply select Forbidden Ritual on the character creation screen and start a new game.
The new product will be a full-fledged alliance with an independent economy, its own testing and exclusive rewards. At the same time, the developers emphasized that this is not a monthly event: “Forbidden Ritual” will run until version 1.0 is fully released and will end at the same time as the Runes of Ulduar. Private leagues for the new event will be created starting on August 31st PT, but will not be available until September 4th.
However, the changes and other improvements to the Trials of Chaos have nothing to do with Forbidden Ritual. They will be included in the main game, so you can try them on existing characters in Runes of Aldur or Standard. With the release of the patch, Runes of Adul will also become part of the main game and appear in the Standard Edition. Duelists won’t be coming to Update 0.5.5 – the new class will only be released on December 11th, coinciding with the full release of Path of Exile 2 1.0.
