The second weekend of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s open beta presented an amazing sight: Although the beta version is open to all users without pre-ordering, the peak number of Steam online users (approximately 113,000 people in the closed beta) was only slightly higher than last week.
The main positive change is audience retention. If the last test saw a rapid loss of players on the first day, the current decline is much smoother, with the average daily number of users fixed at around 115,000.
However, the overall proportion of negative reviews on Valve’s website remains at 45%, and the game’s rating remains in the “mixed” category. The community continues to have the same complaints about balance, matchmaking systems, and game mechanics as when closed access began.
