According to a DVD release date portal, the digital release of Disney’s live-action remake of “Moana” will take place on September 8, 2026, exactly two months before wide release begins on July 10.
The film’s plot once again follows the journey of brave girl Moana Wayaliki and the willful demigod Maui across their home island of Motunui to save their people. At the same time, the project received conflicting reviews: while professional critics gave the film only a 32% score on Rotten Tomatoes, general audiences enthusiastically received the film, with a score of 88%.
Many enjoyed the performance of young actress Catherine Lagaye, although the abuse of computer graphics and the status of frame-by-frame remakes raised questions among viewers.
