Last year, the U.S. Department of Defense launched a centralized service portal, GenAI.mil, to provide Pentagon employees with access to an adapted version of Google Gemini, but now it discount They also have two other special versions of their chatbot: ChatGPT Mil and Grok for Government.

The list of generative AI developers attracted does not include Anthropic, and for obvious reasons—the startup has been on a list of companies that pose a threat to U.S. national security since the end of February. Until then, the Pentagon and its contractors were nominally prohibited from using Anthropic’s designs.
In the case of ChatGPT Mil, Pentagon employees will have similar opportunities as other commercial customers of the startup. In this case, Grok will be integrated into the Starshield AI secure satellite communications network, which operates on the Starlink satellite system.
