It’s no secret that Smith and former Arkane Austin production director Ben Horne founded Black Pony Immersive a year ago, but are only now talking about it.
Twelve months after opening, Black Pony Immersive has 26 employees, including many former Arkane employees such as Prey and Deus Ex: Invisible War lead designer Ricardo Bare.

“We want to make single-player, story-driven first-person games that let you explore the world and solve problems creatively. Think Deus Ex, think Dishonored — that’s what we do.”,— clarified Smith.
In other words, Black Pony Immersive aims to develop immersive simulators. These include Deus Ex, Dishonored, Thief, System Shock, and other games produced by Smith and Bell.

Development of the first Black Pony Immersive game has begun with support from unnamed financial partners. We don’t know anything else about the studio’s debut project beyond the aforementioned genres.
