Acer presented a concept at IFA 2026 Mini double play project — A portable console with an 8-inch screen transforms into a compact laptop. The design includes a flip-and-swivel display that provides access to the keyboard.

In handheld mode, the Acer Project DualPlay Mini looks like a regular handheld console, with analog sticks, D-pad, ABXY buttons, and side controls. When you turn on the device, a backlit keyboard appears – and the display rotates to sit above it, turning the device into a tiny laptop. These two modes are suitable for different computer games. For example, a keyboard can be useful when running a first-person shooter game. The device can be connected to an external monitor for use as a desktop.

The Acer Project DualPlay Mini runs on an Intel processor, but a model is not specified. The developer also announced a dual-fan cooling system borrowed from the Predator Atlas 8 – it consists of a regular plastic fan and a metal Predator AeroBlade. The device has two USB Type-C ports, at least one of which supports Thunderbolt. Specs, price and release date for the Acer Project DualPlay Mini have yet to be announced – it’s just a concept at the moment and the manufacturer has no plans to start selling the device.
