Nexus Mods, the largest game modification platform, suddenly announced the acquisition of the SteamDB database. Any self-respecting boy knows the database owned by Gaben the White.
Launched in 2013 by xPaw and Marlamin, SteamDB has grown exponentially over the years, reaching far beyond the scope of the hobby. Marlamin left the project with millions of users a few years ago, while Pavel Dzhundik aka xPaw started looking for a new responsible owner for his idea at the beginning of this year, with resources for further development and long-term stability.
SteamDB will still be SteamDB. Our goal is not to change what makes this project special, but to provide it with resources, development capabilities, and long-term stability that I can no longer provide myself.

Nexus Mods and SteamDB will remain separate services, although information from SteamDB will help Nexus Mods track information about game versions: updates are often the reason mods stop working. SteamDB will continue to run in the same format, and xPaw will be available to new owners over the next few months. The amount of the deal remains behind the scenes.
Let’s remember that a year ago, Nexus Mods creator Robin Scott (aka Dark0ne) sold the platform engaged in the development and monetization of gaming startup Chosen for an undisclosed amount.
