Digital Sun Studios, with the support of publisher 11 bit studios, released the roguelike action game “Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault”, which has been in early access since November last year. The game can be purchased on PC for 875 rubles on Steam, taking into account the starting discount of 30%. The project is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
The release also comes with the release of major update 1.0, which completes Will’s main story and adds new content. The final part of the campaign introduces new missions, story scenes, and discoveries related to the infinite treasure trove and the secrets of the region’s inhabitants. However, the adventure doesn’t end after the story ends.
Version 1.0 mainly tests Infinite unlimited storage. After completing the main campaign, players will face a series of increasingly difficult challenges. Each must be completed in one trip. If the required number of coins is not collected, the progress of the current challenge will be reset. The further the player advances, the higher the difficulty and the more valuable the rewards. Upon completion, you can earn new equipment, shop improvements, decorations, and cosmetics.
The armory has been supplemented with four new weapon options:
- Designed for an aggressive fighting style, the Infinite Sword converts its special attack into a series of rapid piercing attacks, the number of which is determined by the duration of the series of attacks.
- The Infinity Sword will form a defensive posture to block enemy attacks, increase the sharpness of the weapon, and ultimately produce a powerful counterattack.
- The Infinity Spear consumes its accumulated tips, after which normal attacks transform into enhanced special attacks for a limited time.
- The Infinity Gauntlet significantly increases attack power in berserker mode.
Shops can now be upgraded to level five. Heroes gain an additional slot for bloblets and another cell for decorative items, which expands the facility’s design possibilities. A new “Bomb” skill line has also been added to the game. It lets you mark enemies with an explosion that disappears after a certain number of hits and causes damage to nearby enemies.
Version 1.0 also includes a hardcore mode that resets progress upon death, a new merchant, cosmetics for an unlimited vault, and an additional codex page with information on enemies, characters, abilities, and furniture. Additionally, new missions and story scenarios appear, as well as numerous improvements.
“Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault” is an action role-playing game with roguelike elements. Players will control Will, a businessman and explorer who tries to rebuild the village of Tresna after losing his wealth. The main game cycle is built around the alternation of two activities: exploring dangerous dimensions and managing your own store. During his adventure, Will fights enemies and bosses, collects artifacts and other valuable items, and then returns to the settlement to sell the loot and obtain funding for development. The combat system involves the use of various weapons, armor, and rewards, and the organization of your backpack affects the amount and value of the loot that can be taken from dungeons.
In the transaction part of the game, you need to independently determine the cost of goods, consider customer behavior and improve the store structure to increase transaction efficiency. Funds received can be used to develop Tresna and unlock new opportunities. Another challenge is the Infinite Vault – a mysterious structure where the challenges become progressively more difficult and the rewards increasingly valuable. The game takes place in a 3D world where dimensional exploration, combat, shop management, and settlement development are combined into a single progression loop tied to the confrontation with the capture of Tresna’s interdimensional collector Moloch.
