Crystal Dynamics game director Raul Siqueira shared future plans for the series at a Gamescom event, confirming that the upcoming Tomb Raider Catalyst and Legacy of Atlantis remasters will feature a single version of the heroine.
The developers are using the image of Lara Croft from the Survivor trilogy, which was rebooted in 2013. According to the creators, the same version of the character will remain a staple in all future projects from the studio to ensure story continuity.
Meanwhile, a remake of the original 1996 game is being created as a separate project from the original. The release of “Tomb Raider: Catalyst” has been delayed to 2028, but the team is already building a unified storyline.
The Tomb Raider action-adventure series has come a long way from a classic project to a modern trilogy about the rise of the famous Tomb Raider.
